A quick catch-up! (photo heavy!)

So, we're back from our (first) two-week excursion and while I don't have a lot of time for a fully detailed post, I can share some pictures of some of the sights we saw along our "tour" of Sweden (Stockholm, Halland and Skåne)... (don't forget you can click on the photos to see them bigger!)

This is for my aunt... "her" restaurant in Stockholm

For one of my sisters, "her" restaurant in Stockholm

Me, sitting atop one of the concrete lions that guard the Pedestrian Only Zones of Stockholm

Me, trying to be "artsy"... a noticeboard in Stockholm

A gratuitous cock picture (Stockholm)

I needed to snap a shot of this, my thus far favourite, bit of graffiti because it made me laugh... only to turn around and on the wall behind me, spot some "interesting", anatomical drawings!

A shot from the front deck of Mr B's Mormor's summer home (bordering the west coast of Sweden... the Kattegat Sea, between the North Sea and the Baltic)

Aforementioned deck... with some love

(note the glasses in the foreground? They'd been there for several days by the time we left, the poor, deserted things. I decided not to crop them in case you might know to whom they belong *grin*)

And now, meet "Steve". This is the Chocolate Cherry cake I tried (rather unsuccessfully) to make vegan by replacing the eggs in the recipe with cherry jam. (Well, in my defence, it worked -really- well with some cookies ;) )

The result is some sort of..... goo.

My brother-in-law named it Mana and it's a name that makes me smile. Perhaps when I actually figure out what to -do- with the stuff, I might just name it "Mana" (I'm thinking some sort of candy-type-thing. The In-Laws certainly LOVED the way Steve tasted so I may be in the first developmental stages of a new creation. Watch this space!)

And a picture of Steve being pulled... Totally *not* cake-like!

And here's Steve, completely vertical. That scares me a little. He's not even shifting!

And that's all I have (to post, I have -tons- more photos) and I'll be sure to update again as soon as I can. (I've still got pictures to post of the crafty purchases I made, after all!)

Take care, all! Until next time....

And...

... now that I've delivered the other two items I've been working on lately, I can post them, too!

Jobey asked for a Rosary for fashion reasons and was very specific about the colour she wanted:

And this a "just because" gift for a very dear friend whose middle name happens to be "Rose" *grin* I'm subtle like that...
Both girls were very happy to receive their necklaces and these aren't the first I've made...

The first one I sold (to S):

The first one I ever made for my daughter N for her First Holy Communion:

Now that these beauties have so many more meanings and uses than originally intended (thanks, Madonna and Madonna and David Beckham!) do you need one?

Just to remind you all Mr B and I will be away for a while so my posts will be sporadic at best over the next month-ish but please do email me as normal :)

Long time, no post...

I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post, dear readers, but I promise I haven't been slacking.

I've been really busy!

The irony of the situation is not lost on me, either.

I quit my job to have some more time to develop a little baked-goods business and I've spent all of the last week working on jewellery!

(For those of you who don't know, I also "make" stuff* but haven't spent any real time developing that side of what I do because I wasn't able to invest much, if anything, in marketing/advertising at the time.)

When mentioning my plans for the baking endeavours to former colleagues the conversation always included some of the other things that I can do.

Two of these lovely ladies asked if I would take on commissions for them.

I was more than happy to do so and here's (some of) what I've been doing...

Miss N ordered a necklace, earrings and a tiara for her upcoming wedding at the end of August and I can now share pictures with you because A. let's face it, you're not likely to be attending her wedding and B. the pieces are on their way to her now and should be with her tomorrow.

Please forgive the photos, I was eager to get quick snaps of everything so I could send it off to her ASAP (I really need to invest in a lightbox-type set up!)

Necklace
Tiara (Version 2. Some day when I'm feeling self-deprecating I'll show you version 1)
Earrings

I can't wait to see photos of Miss N on her big day!
